Document Processing Flow in V39

In v39, the new Document Processing flow included in the instance differs from the one included in previous versions. Specifically, it's a flow group rather than a single flow. For more information about flow groups, see Connecting Flows to Other Flows.

The Document Processing flow group consists of:

• A subflow called “Document Processing Subflow V38,” which contains the blocks included in previous versions of the Document Processing flow, with the exception of the Input Block and Output Block. This flow is read-only.
• A subflow called “Submission State Notifications V38,” which is the latest version of the Submission State Notifications flow included in previous versions of the application.
• A top-level flow called “Document Processing.” It consists of an Input Block, a block that calls Document Processing Subflow V38, and an Output Block.

Editing settings in Document Processing Subflow V39

To change the settings of Document Processing Subflow V39, you need to edit the main Document Processing flow.

To do so:

1. On the Top-level Flows page ( Flows > Top-level Flows), find the Document Processing flow, and click its Open → link.
2. In the table under the flow diagram, click Document Processing.
3. On the canvas, click the Start Document Processing Subflow Block.
4. In the Settings Type drop-down list, click on the name of the type of setting you would like to edit.

The settings of the type you selected are shown. They consist of the flow- and block-level settings found in previous versions of the Document Processing flow. For block-specific settings:

• Click Submission Bootstrap to see settings for the Submission Initialization Block.
• Click Classification to see settings for the Manual Classification Block.
• Click Identification to see settings for the Manual Identification Block.
• Click Transcription to see settings for the Manual Transcription Block.
• Click Flexible Extraction to see settings for the Flexible Extraction Block.

5. Edit the settings as needed.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 as needed for other types of settings.
7. Click Save in the upper-right corner of the page.

Upgradability

If your business case allows it, we recommend migrating to v39’s Document Processing flow. We designed it so that the effort required to upgrade to future versions of the Document Processing flows would be minimized. When v40 becomes available, you can upgrade to Document Processing Subflow V40 by selecting it in the Flow Identifier drop-down list in the Start Document Processing Subflow Block’s settings.

If you use custom flows, we recommend that your flow developers include this capability in those flows.
