User Management

Flow-based Permissions

To maintain multiple lines of business in Hyperscience, you may need to create separate flows for each line of business. With flow-based permissions, you can restrict access to a flow so that only users in certain permission groups can access.

External Authentication Providers

Hyperscience supports three mechanisms for external authentication: LDAP, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SAML. This configuration is managed through the ENV file in the supplied bundle.

LDAP Configuration

Here’s an example LDAP configuration: ...

Permission Groups

A permission group is a group of users who share the same set of permissions. You can see a list of your permission groups by going to Users > Permission Groups. Clicking on a permission group shows you its properties.

Managing Permission Groups

Hyperscience comes with a set of default permission groups, and you can create custom permission groups to meet your organization’s needs. You can also manage your permission groups with the tools provided on the Permission Groups page of the application.

Managing Authentication Groups

To map groups from your identity provider to Hyperscience permission groups, you must first add an authentication group. If an external user tries to log in without appropriate mapping, they will receive an error.

Adding, Editing, and Deactivating Users

The methods you use to add and deactivate users depend on what kind of Hyperscience instance you’re using. On-premise/private cloud instances allow you to add and deactivate users by following specific processes.

Viewing & Editing Restrictions

To view all document restrictions, go to Users > Task Restrictions. A table with all of the restrictions will appear. To see the restriction details of a document, click on a Restriction Name.

Task Restrictions Overview

The Task Restrictions feature enables Hyperscience admins to limit which users can perform tasks for a given submission, which can be specified via API. It also limits which users can perform tasks on a given page.

Defining Task Restrictions

Task Restrictions allow Hyperscience admins to limit which users can perform tasks on a given page based on the layout. Steps to define include navigating specific settings within the application.

Best Practices for Using Task Restrictions

Task Restrictions can streamline the work assignments of separate teams. To maximize benefits, follow the best practices listed.
