Submissions

What is a Submission?

A submission is created when a set of files are submitted into Hyperscience together. The system then interprets each image as a page and matches each page to a live layout in the system. Pages are grouped into a document based on the metadata associated with the submission.

Navigating the Submissions Page

To view information about all of the submissions in Hyperscience, go to Submissions > Submissions. Submissions tabs The Submissions tab displays a table of all submissions. To see all pages within a submission, find its row in the table.

Automatic Document Classification

Automatic Document Classification enables Semi-structured and Additional documents to be automatically matched to their respective layout. For more information on document types, see Understanding Document Types.

Support for Multiple Languages

Semi-structured Grouping Logic

A submission can consist of image files for various types of documents. For more information on assessing the type of document in a submission, see Understanding Document Types. For submissions of Structured documents, the system is able to match pages to their respective layouts effectively.

Submission Output Page

When you click a Submission ID on either the Submissions table or the Document table, it will take you to the Submission Output page. This page provides a detailed breakdown of the submission.

Document Output Page

When you click the Document ID for a submission in the Documents table, you will be taken to the Document Output page. The Document Output page contains the original page image, the machine and manual transcriptions, and some additional details that provide insights into the processing of that document.

Potential Layout Variations

The Potential Layout Variations feature helps users identify Structured layout variations that can be created to reduce the number of submitted pages that do not match to any layout variations in the system. This feature groups unmatched pages based on their characteristics.

Submission Tracking Logs

The submissions tracking functionality in the database and API records each stage that a page moves through as it is processed in Hyperscience. This information can help with debugging and stuck or incomplete submissions. To query the submission tracking logs, refer to the appropriate sections in the documentation.

Downloading Submission Data

On the Submissions page, you can search for and filter submissions in your account. If you would like to download data about the submissions that meet the criteria you’ve entered, you can click Download CSV in the top-right corner of the page at any time.

Prioritizing Submissions

If you use Hyperscience to process many kinds of documents, you may want to assign deadlines to certain submissions, especially if you're working to meet SLAs for your customers. With our SLA rules, you can assign deadlines to submissions that come in.

Case Collation

Case Collation allows you to group submitted files, documents, and pages into cases, using a unique identifier called a Case ID. There are two ways to assign a Case ID: During submissions upload - you have the option to add a submission to an existing case or create a new one.

Matching Pages to Layouts

Matching pages to layouts is part of the Document Classification task. The machine tries to match each page to its layout. If the machine’s confidence is high enough, the page will be matched to a layout automatically. If the machine’s confidence is low, the system may prompt for manual intervention to ensure accuracy.

How a File Becomes a Submission

To create a submission, you need to upload a file or a set of files into Hyperscience. There are two ways to upload files into Hyperscience:
